While snack lives online, there’s still much to be found in the pile of paper in my mailbox. This week’s mail yielded two nice offers.

Union Square Cafe is 21 years old this year. To fête this auspicious event, Messieurs Meyer and Romano are uncorking some vino for everyone celebrating a 21 as well. If it is your 21st birthday, they’ll pour you your first legal glass of champagne (Billecart-Salmon, bien sûr). If it’s your 21st wedding anniversary, it’s a bottle of Bricco Manzoni or Mâcon Village (to accompany your meal). Note to those people who pride themselves on successfully scamming Denny’s out of a free birthday meal: some kind of official proof of age and matrimony will be required.
