RaosSo I had lunch at Rao’s yesterday. I know what you’re thinking. ‘Wow! You have a table at Rao’s?’ Followed by, ‘Wait a minute – Rao’s isn’t open for lunch.’ Indeed. It was a special luncheon to announce Rao’s opening in Caesars Palace this December in Las Vegas. What you need to know is…

Frankie Pellegrino Jr. will be in-house and his wife Carla Pellegrino will be in the kitchen as Executive Chef. (Based on the four hour 16-course meal I had, she seems to know her way around the penne.) There will be an outdoor bocce court. The restaurant is 10,000 square feet and has a brand new reservation book, which means you’ll be able to get a table, although Frank Sr. did mention that people in NY and Vegas have already started asking for regular tables. Get in while you can.

    Hey!
I just got this code for the Time Out eating event on Tuesday. I went last year, and there’s a bunch of restaurants giving out free food, cool music and there’s a couple of open bars for the whole night. There’s a coupon code (TONYVIP) you enter at check out so you can get them for 20% off your tickets if you buy them before Tuesday. It’s a really fun event, and I think you get a gift bag and a free subscriptions, too.

Bonjour Alison. How’s the internship going at TONY? Merci for the discount code – the 20% off will come in handy, especially since there’s no press list for the event.

    Vegas, Drowning in Red Sauce

First they took an irrelevant punkrock playpen and some of us said “good!” because we’d only been there that one time and we still smelled funny because of it; then they decided to replicate an inconveniently located Italian restaurant that…
